Using Winning Capability Statement and Research Analytical insights in empowering business growth for Women-Owned brands using tested retail tools and resources in owning their own retail space, dealing with independent retailers as well as doing business with large supply chains.

Program Eligibility

In order to apply for the REAP + iLaunchHERproduct program, applicants must meet the general eligibility criteria.

The applicant must be:

  • A legal resident of Canada;
  • Self-identify as any of the following: newcomer to Canada, woman of color, black woman, or immigrant woman, BIPOC woman (whichever way you self identify);
  • 18 years or older at the time of application;
  • Must be a profit-making business (NGOs are not eligible);
  • A founder and majority shareholder of a business registered and operating in Canada (Own 51% and above stake in the business);
  • Applicant must hold the most senior executive title and/or be the chief decision maker;
  • Applicant must be the founder of the business and/or have had a significant impact on the company if acquired;
  • The applicant must be available to participate in both phases of the program.

Program Timeline

REAP + iLaunchHERproduct will be conducted as follows:

Phase One: REAP

There will be 3 REAP cohorts in a year, each cohort takes place real-time virtually over a 3 months period. Entrepreneurs are only expected to take one cohort and then move to the iLaunchHERproduct. We will admit between 35-50 women into each cohort (if you miss one cohort, you get to apply for the next).

1st COHORT

  • September 1st to October 30th 2022 – 1st cohort registration opens
  • November 7th 2022 – Program Meet & Greet
  • November 11th 2022 to February 17th 2023 – Cohort classes starts
  • February 18th to February 30th 2023 – Certificate of program completion Issued
  • OPTIONAL – Sedulous Women Leaders “Certified BIPOC Woman-Owned Business”. A certification and iLaunchHERproduct logo will be issued. (details about this will be communicated in class)

2nd COHORT

  • November 3rd to February 30th 2023 – 2nd cohort registration opens
  • February 24th 2023 – Meet and Greet Information Session
  • March 3rd to May 30th 2023 – Cohort classes starts
  • June 1st to June 14th 2023 – Certificate of program completion Issued
  • OPTIONAL – Sedulous Women Leaders “Certified BIPOC Woman-Owned Business”. A certification and iLaunchHERproduct logo will be issued. (details about this will be communicated in class)

3rd COHORT

  • February 25th to June 6th 2023 – 3rd cohort registration opens
  • June 9th 2023 – Meet and Greet Information Session
  • June 16th to September 8th 2023 – Cohort classes starts
  • September 9th to September 16th 2023 – Certificate of program completion Issued
  • OPTIONAL – Sedulous Women Leaders “Certified BIPOC Woman-Owned Business”. A certification and iLaunchHERproduct logo will be issued. (details about this will be communicated in class)

Phase Two: iLaunchHERproduct

All participants that go through Phase 1 REAP and are retail ready will be eligible to participate in the iLaunchHERproduct. This is the phase participants will be connected with both independent retailers and big box stores to present their product. Buyers from both independent retail stores and big box stores reserve the right to pick the brand products they desire to have business with and to have on their shelves, entrepreneurs have to do the work to win the heart of the buyers.

NOTE: Sedulous women leaders do not guarantee that your products will be allowed into every retail stores of every buyer we connect you with BUT we guarantee that we will only bring buyers that are ready and willing to give participants a fair opportunity in their retail stores.


REAP + iLaunchHERproduct participants who are at the stage of retail-readiness will get the opportunity to connect with Buyers from different industries, develop key retail capacity skills, build networks, support, and tools that would help them transition growth into retail stores – all at no cost

REAP Content:

For each of the cohorts, entrepreneurs will learn the following course contents over the 3months timeframe:

  • Different Certifications and Approvals needed in the retail business
  • How to analyze the options available for financing your business
  • How to calculate a Business Valuation for your brand
  • Product Positioning and Product Pricing
  • Retail distribution Strategies for your business
  • Protecting your Brand: Intellectual Property, Trademark, Patent
  • Creating a product and line sheet
  • Getting into retail stores: Different retail store requirements
  • Export 101: How to Create an Effective Export Plan
  • How to develop a Business Capability Statement
  • Business Readiness Assessment
  • Choosing the best Insurance, Lawyer, Accountant for your business
  • How to get my products ready to present to buyers + the several ways to meet buyers

iLaunchHERproduct Content:

Entrepreneurs will:

  • STEP 1: Entrepreneurs will be required to submit one sample of the products they wish to present to buyers to determine if their brand is shelf-ready and meets all buyer approval criteria
  • STEP 2: Entrepreneurs will be mentored on how to pitch their products to buyers
  • STEP 3: Entrepreneurs will be required to submit a one-pager business capability statement
  • STEP 4: Entrepreneurs will “Meet the Buyers” (Exact date TBD)
  • STEP 5: 3months, 6months check-up on progress with Buyers
